The Cook County Bar Association (“CCBA”) is pleased to invite students from eligible law schools to participate in the 26th Annual CCBA Minority Law Student Job Fair. Law School Registration is NOW OPEN. The registration period for Law Schools runs from April 1, 2010 until May 1, 2010. In an effort to keep the student-to-employer ratio as low as possible, we are only inviting J.D. students in the classes of 2012 (current 1Ls/rising 2Ls) and 2010 (current 2Ls/rising 3Ls). Students graduating in any month prior to December 2011 (current 3Ls) and joint degree students graduating in 2012 are not eligible. All participating students must be from fully accredited law schools. Students must also fall into one of the following categories: ·attend a law school ranked among the top 30 as determined by U.S. News and World Report, or ·attend law school at a Historically Black College or University, or ·attend a law school located in the Midwest as defined by the National Association for Law Placement (NALP); or ·be a fellow or associate of the Council on Legal Educational Opportunity (CLEO). Each participating law school and all students must register online and in advance of the fair. We have phased out any form of an on-site matching process due to the negative feedback we have received over the years. Instead, with the help of the various Law School Career Services office personnel, we will keep the amount of "no shows" to a minimum except in the cases of extreme emergencies only. To that end we ask that each Law School Career Services Office provide us with a contact person who will serve as that school’s CCBA Job Fair Liaison. Each Liaison will be the point person that should serve as the school’s informational resource for our Job Fair. Additionally, Job Fair Liaisons will be called upon to verify each student’s class year and graduation date once student registration closes in May 2010. Each school’s Job Fair Liaison will be required to register their law school by e-mail no later than May 1, 2010. In the past, we asked Job Fair Liaisons to register their law school online through our internet-based interview scheduling program. Last year we began using Symplicity, an online job bank and web-based recruiting system, and, at this time, we do not have the ability to support an additional user category for Job Fair Liaisons on Symplicity. As a result, all schools must send their registration by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Your registration e-mail must contain the following information: • School Name • Name and Title of Job Fair Liaison • Address • Phone Number • E-mail Address WE ASK THAT ALL ELIGIBLE LAW SCHOOLS REGISTER IMMEDIATELY. Students from your school will not be completely registered until their law school’s registration is complete. The registration fee for law schools registering on or before May 1, 2010 is $225.00. The registration fee for law schools registering after May 1, 2010 is $250.00. Please e-mail your registration and remit your registration fee check made payable to the Cook County Bar Association. Checks should be mailed to: Cook County Bar Association, P.O. Box 1148, Chicago, Illinois 60609. Law school registration fees must be received by Friday, May 1, 2010.
