Law Schools
The Cook County Bar Association (“CCBA”) is pleased to invite students from eligible law schools to participate in the 25th Annual CCBA Minority Law Student Job Fair. The 2008 List of Invited Law Schools is in the next column. Law School Registration is NOW OPEN. Law Student Registration will open on April 1, 2008.

In an effort to keep the student-to-employer ratio as low as possible, we are only inviting J.D. students in the classes of 2010 (current 1Ls/rising 2Ls) and 2009 (current 2Ls/rising 3Ls). Students graduating in any month prior to December 2008 (current 3Ls) and joint degree students graduating in 2011 are not eligible. All participating students must be from fully accredited law schools.

Students must also fall into one of the following categories:

·attend a law school ranked among the top 30 as determined by U.S. News and World Report, or

·attend law school at a Historically Black College or University, or

·attend a law school located in the Midwest as defined by the National Association for Law Placement (NALP); or

·be a fellow or associate of the Council on Legal Educational Opportunity (CLEO).

Each participating law school and all students must register online and in advance of the fair. We have phased out any form of an on-site matching process due to the negative feedback we have received over the years. Instead, with the help of the various Law School Career Services office personnel, we will keep the amount of "no shows" to a minimum except in the cases of extreme emergencies only.

To that end we ask that each Law School Career Services Office provide us with a contact person who will serve as that school’s CCBA Job Fair Liaison. Each Liaison will be the point person that should serve as the school’s informational resource for our Job Fair. Additionally, Job Fair Liaisons will be called upon to verify each student’s class year and graduation date once student registration closes on May 2 2008.

Please note that we will not be able to approve ANY law student registrants unless and until their Law School has completed its own registration process. Law School registration for the Job Fair must be completed electronically through EaseLaw, an internet-based matching program powered by E Campus Recruiter. To register, please visit www.easelaw.com/ccba and click the Law School Registration icon.

Law School REGISTRATION is NOW OPEN. Each eligible school’s Job Fair Liaison should register their law school online immediately if they have not already done so. The registration fee is $150.00 per law school. Please register and remit your registration fee check, made payable to the Cook County Bar Association, to the attention of Tiffiny Higgins at Equity Residential, Two North Riverside Plaza, Suite 400, Chicago, IL 60606. Law school registration fees should be sent immediately as the due date is quickly approaching on Monday, March 31, 2008.

Thank you for your interest in the 2008 CCBA Minority Law Student Job Fair.
